What do I do if I get a traffic ticket from De Kalb County Police?
Most traffic citations will be handled by the State Court – Traffic Division which operates out of the old Recorders Court building now called the Camp Circle Court Complex.
In other words, if you are charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Expired Tag, you cannot pay the citation for Expired Tag before your court date, even though it is on the list below of citations that can be paid before your court date.
If you received a citation that indicates that you should report to the Camp Circle location to handle your matter, please do so.
If you are unsure about your options, appear at the Court no later than the date listed at the bottom of the citation.
You may not have recieved a Reminder Notice due to the following: Failure to receive a Reminder Notice does not relieve you of the obligation to appear by the date stated in the Notice to Appear.
You must address these concerns with the Bureau of Driver Licenses and/or your insurance agent. The envelope provided by the deputy may not be accurate.
If you are issued a ticket for a non-criminal moving traffic violation in the five boroughs of New York City or Rochester, it will be handled by a New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Traffic Violations Bureau (TVB).
