The Helicopter Museum received a 138,500 grant from the Coastal Communities Fund towards the restoration of the unique control tower and the pilots block, adjacent to the Museum entrance, on the old Weston Airport.
The tower made use of a 1920s cab shelter, relocated from the sea front in Weston-super-Mare when the local council built the original grass airfield in 1935.
